BASTARD!! the anime

If you are a fan of the metal music genre, dark fantasy themes, action, and adventure, then youre gonna fucking LOVE Bastard!!

I was really pleased with the anime, although I wish it were longer than 6 episodes.

The focus is on the return of Dark Schneider, who had reincarnated himself after 15 years of being defeated. He is a 400 year old wizard, who claims to be the more powerful wizard in the world. His name is based off of Dee Snider from Twisted Sister, and visually, they are pretty similar I'd say.
Dark Schneider is capable of a couple different magics, A master in fire magics, well versed in lightning and thunder magics, and also black magic. Now with the black magic, the main spells he uses are Venom, Exodus, Sodom, and Helloween. (Catch those metal references?)

Here's a visual Iron Maiden reference:

Fun fact, Dark Schneider's english voice actor is Daran Norris, who is also the voice of Cosmo from the Fairly Odd Parents. Honestly, the voice is pretty fitting although I totally catch parts of the Cosmo voice in Dark Schneider. Its hilarious.

Another character who is a metal reference is Count Di-Amon. You guessed it, it's basically King Diamond. Looks just like him too.

This character was the entire reason I watched this, I am a huge fan of King Diamond, and seeing this was the coolest thing ever. Thanks to Frost for showing it to me.
Count Di-Amon was a sorcerer who used magic to turn himself into a vampire, because he found his human self to be ugly. In the anime he has an awesome character, sucking the blood of virgins and claiming them as his servants.
I want this figurine so bad

There are loads of other metal references like the Metallicana kingdom, Anthrax the Evil God, Abigail the Dark Cleric, and others of course.

Now for something that isn't related to metal references: The art style.
I always enjoy old-school anime styles, this one definitely has a
"classic" feel to it, although there are some parts in the animation that just look super retarded and off, youll see what I mean when you watch it.
I really like the way that the hair is drawn especially, a good example is one of the main characters, Yoko.
She totally reminds me of Misty from Pokemon

Although the majority of the characters have this style of bangs, I don't mind much cuz I dig it.
I also really like the fangs that some characters are drawn with.
TEEF.

The animation is also really well done.
Look at that shit. So good.

There are also tons of really badass monsters that are fought in this anime, my two favorites were the Werewolf and the Minotaur

While I am not super duper crazy about action themed shows, I really enjoyed this one, the story was awesome, I loved the fantasy, and the metal references made it even better. I haven't started on the manga yet, but I plan to get on that soon enough.

Well, thats it! GO WATCH IT

GWAR at the House of Vans, Brooklyn NY 10/29/16

After much resting up from the GWAR show, its about time I made a post about it. First off, this entire day was incredible. Frosty and I made up some shirts for the show

\
^My favorite quote from the Skulhedface movie
WHATS A G-WAR?
Thanks Frost for holding up the shirts
We got to the House of Vans at around noon, watched blood stained GWAR slaves haul the props into the venue, and soon enough, Mr Matt Maguire came over to us and talked for a bit! Matt, it was a pleasure to finally meet you in person. You are extremely fucking cool dude. Seriously one of the happiest, friendliest people I've ever met.
Anyway, we got to see Sawborg later in the day too, oh man, it was amazing to see that costume up close. The detail on that thing is fucking incredible, and the fact that it still looks flawless after beating up Scumdogs onstage getting hit with so much spew is really impressive. It was really inspiring to see that costume, makes me want to get started on sculpting again. And someday I will reach the goal of being that skilled with costume making. We got pics with him too! Made my fuckin day

Nice towel, Sawborg

Getting there early is really rewarding, we got some kickass free Wolfbat/Blothar shirts from the venue, first people in line, got to watch the Gwar guys haul boxes and bags (poor Don had a hard time lugging his wheel-less bag) . Hahaha.

Speaking of Wolfbat, there was a bit of a twist to this show.... there was an EPIC battle between a giant wolf and a giant robot IN THE CROWD! They were all made from cardboard I believe. There were lots of decorations inside the venue made from cardboard aswell, I think there was an art exhibit (or something of the kind going on), normally the House of Vans is a skate park place. Here's a video of the Wolf and the Robot while one of the opening bands Mutoid Man plays:
Thank you Jay D Maniak for the video!

As for the GWAR part of the show, it was excellent as always, Frost and I got front row, both drenched in the blood and piss of the scumdogs and their victims. Sexecutioner made an appearance! How could he not? He's a Brooklyn local. The set was pretty similar to the GWARBQ set, which is totally fine due to the fact that I missed out on most of the GWARBQ set because I was having trouble breathing with my armor on. So this show definitely made up for that. We also got to see Jagermonsta, which is a villain that I've never seen live before. But god damn, I loooove that costume!! Its got such a silly face.

Beefcake threw one of his picks at Frost, he had no idea and it bounced right off of him (durrrrr). Luckily one of the bouncers picked it up and gave it to him though.

After the show, we talked to Matt again, told him how much we loved the show, got Sawborg signatures from him too. But also got to talk to Brent for a few minutes too, surprisingly, he knew who I was! He knew me as "the girl who does corpse paint on Instagram". That's fucking awesome. It was great to meet him too! Hope to see him again.

And of course, the obligatory after-show photos
^Frost, me, and our buddies Io and Zack.^
Credit to Io Aea Stout for the photo.
My shirt, didn't get any pics of Frost's spewshirt, but I'm sure you can imagine what that looks like.
Still covered in spew and avoiding a shower at all costs....

Being at a GWAR show always gives me this feeling of adrenaline and an overall sense of bliss. I guess thats normal when you're seeing your favorite band. But I dunno, seeing GWAR gives me a feeling that only happens at GWAR shows. Being covered in spew is one of the greatest feelings ever, except when it gets in my eyes. But other than that BEST THING EVER. When I saw my first GWAR show, it was my first metal show, and it was so very eye-opening for me, seeing these huge monsters onstage after only seeing pictures of them on the internet before, it was the coolest thing I had ever seen, and as soon as the spew hit me, I was going nuts, I felt GREAT. I've been a hardcore fan ever since. It feels really good to have your favorite people in the flesh right in front of you, singing the songs you know all the words to. It gives me so much life.

The fact that GWAR is more than just a concert is what really draws me to it, its an entire stage show instead of just people singing. Monsters fight monsters, people get decapitated, and its a great fucking time. The creativity and fantasy of it is very otherworldly to me, when you go to a GWAR show, you are in THEIR world. I fucking love that shit. GWAR is my biggest inspiration when it comes to artwork, I aspire to create stories and bring monsters to life like that, with my own twists, of course.

After seeing this show, I am extremely inspired. I'll be working on a little somethin to wear to my next GWAR show, if you follow me on facebook, I'll be posting updates on it once i get started.

Aaaaand that's all I got. Hope you enjoyed.

Renard/Jackal Queenston/Lapfox Trax

Generally I have been looking into furries, and fursuits, but ill go more into that in another post. More importantly, Lately I've been doing research on Renard Queenston and his aliases. I discovered Renard's music back in 2012 and I've been a fan ever since. I was really really into electronic music then, and Lapfox Trax was one of my favorites. Finding Lapfox was something that really boosted my interest in furries,  I really loved all of the artwork for some of the albums, the artwork for Lapfox is mostly done by "Squeedgemonster". A lot of the albums are very vibrant and colorful which I am not a fan of, but I can enjoy Squeedge's art style.

My favorite alias is definitely Jackal Queenston. A nazi Jackal/German Shepherd hybrid who produces drum and bass music, usually having dark themes related to violence and power. Seriously one of the coolest character designs I have ever seen.

(Credits to Squeedgemonster for all artworks)

He's a cutie, that's for sure. I love how Sharp he looks, the art style is sharp and angular, which really makes him much more menacing looking. I can really appreciate a character who is simple yet has some personality to them. Although I really wish he had more of a backstory and personality besides being a badass nazi, I know he is meant to be a character that represents a form of music, but I really love this guy. I want more.I feel like a lot more depth can go into this character and it could go really far. Imagine seeing this guy in a comic about the Third Reich where the Nazis are German Shepherds and the Jews are Cats? Similar to the ideas of the comic "Maus". A little too similar actually.... Haha. Or even seeing this guy in an animation of some sort would be cool as fuck. I want to hear his thoughts, see him move, hear his voice. I really would love to see this character come to Life. There are so many "fursonas" who have no personality and are really fucking flat and boring and have that glazed look in their big anime eyes. They've got nothing to them, they're just a character and thats it. But Jackal has so much potential I think.

I'm surprised that nobody's made a fursuit of him yet, there's one of the Renard character:

but no Jackal.
(I'm so tempted to do it myself)
Unfortunately Jackal is a very underappreciated character, and there's a lot of really shitty fanart of him which mostly consists of people tracing Squeedge's artworks. Its disappointing.

I would really like to contact Renard and ask him about the creation of Jackal and if he ever plans to use him for more than just a mascot. But what sucks is that Renard is really hard to contact now ever since the rape incident with Nishimura (his girlfriend at-the-time). Although I'm not going to get into that because I haven't looked into it yet and I'm not sure if its bullshit or not. All I know is that Ren is hard to contact ever since she accused him of rape and he shut down his social media accounts. (I'm sure plenty of people were harassing him). He still actively makes music though. So far I have only mentioned Jackal, but I also like some of his other aliases too, Kitsune^2 and Renard Queenston are good too. I actually havent listened to ALL of the Lapfox stuff yet, because I honestly don't love all of it. There are songs that I cherry pick from albums that I really like, and the rest I can leave behind. If you're into electronic stuff and want to check it out, here are some of my favorites:

Well thats all I got. Thanks for reading.
